Plastic-free oceans

People love to visit beaches and oceans with their families. They enjoy there a lot but the problem starts when they pollute that area and spread garbage. Some people throw plastics inside the oceans that leads to plastic pollution in the oceans.

According to an estimate, there are now 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic in the world ocean. Every day around 8 million pieces of plastic makes their way into our oceans.

The throwing of plastic in the oceans leads to water pollution. This can harm the wildlife living in the oceans. Marine species ingest the plastic trash, which in turn causes severe injuries and deaths of marine life. This plastic hurts all the aquatic lives and their habitats.

Plastic pollution is at a crisis point but you can help to reduce this with your efforts.

Whether you are living inland or by the sea, you can help to fix the problem. We should all play our role and protect the ocean from plastic. plastic pollution should be controlled.

We can try to reduce the Single-Use Plastics, we can participate In a Beach or River Cleanup, we can spread awareness about plastic pollution, or can support organizations addressing plastic Pollution.

Various Swimmer is trying from their self to Expose Plastic this Threat. Long-distance swimmer Benoit Lecomte has swum 555 kilometers over three months through the so-called Great Pacific Garbage Patch to highlight the issue of plastic consumption.

The 52-year-old Frenchman sailed from Honolulu to San Francisco, swimming through the 79,000-ton trash vortex he describes as mainly “an underwater smog of microplastic.” He spent eight hours a day in the water, finding everything from abandoned fishing nets to old toilet seats.

His supporting crew collected microplastic samples and placed GPS tags on floating plastic waste so that researchers can better understand how plastics move through the oceans.

“All the plastic I saw didn’t surprise me,” Lecomte said afterward. “I was expecting it to be pretty bad. But after seeing it, day after day, I became numb to it—and my numbness surprised me.”
