Hold a charity day at work.

Most people start their day in offices or any other workplace. There you do work hard, chit-chat with your colleagues, accept your senior’s orders, and then went back home. But do you ever think of holding a charity day at work?

A lot of people are working in offices that can be encouraged to give more to charity. Encourage your colleagues and supervisors to bring in non-perishable items to be donated to a worthy cause. Encourage as many donors as you can.

Non-perishable items can be donated to a food drive, food banks, food panties, or a food rescue program. Food drives are a great way to make a difference, but there are ways to make sure what you donate gets utilized. For starters, check dates and look for those pop-top cans.

Instead of donating foods that are high in salt, sugar, and highly processed grain, you should donate canned goods, dry goods, and dehydrated goods.

The best non – perishable foods to donate include canned beans, dry beans, peanut butter, or other nut butter, canned fruit in juice not in light or heavy syrup, canned vegetables with no or low-sodium, shelf-stable milk and milk substitutes, dried fruits no sugar, chicken beef, and vegetable broths and stock.

Additional tips:

  • Canned goods with pop-top lids are better than canned goods that require a can opener
  • Avoid foods package in the glass.
  • Do not donate foods that are past the expiration date.
