Students Rising Above (SRA) provides a unique level of support to the student. Their community is dedicated to impacting the future through the cultivation of extraordinary youth. They have sent more than 835 students to colleges throughout the U.S.
SRA understands the value of education, addresses the many obstacles faced by first-generation college students, and sets achievable goals, empowering, and measurable.
SRA invests in low-income, first-generation college students who have demonstrated a deep commitment to education and strength of character in overcoming tremendous odds of poverty, homelessness, and neglect.
They are helping each student to realize his or her potential by guiding and supporting the student through college graduation, and into the workforce.
Their programs include college application assistance, pre-college readiness support, tuition assistance, career development workshops, paid summer internships, mentors, and healthcare. The Rising Stars Program recognizes students with potential and understands the obstacles they must overcome.
