Edesia, a nonprofit organization that is also making life-saving foods

Malnutrition is a global problem but is in profusion in the United States. According to recent research, 1.9 billion people are suffering from obesity. However, 462 million people are underweight. 52 million children in the world are either underweight or have malnutrition.

An American Organization, USAID has come forward to end world hunger. Here are the 5 ways in which USAID is helping to overcome world hunger:

1.      USAID is empowering women in rural and underdeveloped areas. The women there are now financially supporting their families.

2.      It is improving the agriculture industry to boost incomes in different states. The developing states mostly rely on farming, which they can also use as an export business.

3.      USAID is also managing the natural resources in several states, enabling them to deal with natural disasters like flooding or drought.

4.      It is directly working with poor people to reduce hunger and contribute financially.

5.      It is influencing public policies to support poor people.

Edesia is a nonprofit organization that is also making life-saving foods to sort out the world’s most alarming health crisis: malnutrition. About 12 million children from 54 different countries are getting ready to use food from this non-profit organization.

Edesia is founded by Navy Salem, who traveled to Tanzania, in 2007 and discovered malnutrition as a global health crisis that is getting little to no attention. She also discovered that malnutrition causes the deaths of 3 million children every year.

Navy Salem researched Plumpy’ Nut, a peanut paste that treats malnutrition rapidly, and decided to make it accessible for maximum children.
