Another neighborhood child was busy earning funds, this time to encourage his peers' love of reading.
McKay Campbell met author Kevin Coolidge during the Wellsboro Laurel Festival in June. McKay, who has dyslexia and occasionally struggles to read, related to Coolidge's relaxed, amusing narrative.
He decided to raise funds to stock the Totally Ninja Raccoon book series in the Williamsport Area School District's libraries. He adored them so much that he assumed his classmates would as well!

A high school student in the Montoursville Area School District set a school record for journalism rather than speed, distance, or baskets.
Montoursville Area High School junior Katelyn Hunsberger was the first Montoursville journalist to win first place in the Pennsylvania School Press Association's Student Journalism Competition.
Katelyn competed against other student photojournalists from across the Commonwealth on March 30 at Pennsylvania State University, University Park, after winning the regional competition.
Emma McMurray, another school journalist who competed in the state competition with four other classmates, wrote this story about Katelyn.

Heroes of the Husky
Two Bloomsburg University students were nominated for a Husky Hero award after they acted quickly to assist another student in need.
Both Alex Pasculle and Erik Josephson are EMTs. When they received a notification on their phones. "I was preparing a brain dissection for a research project I'm now working on when the phone came through," Pasculle explained.
While an ambulance was on its way, he and fellow student Josephson went to help the student who was experiencing a seizure, opening the student's airway and obtaining the necessary equipment.
